The “shape” of the third edition of the contest represents the outline of the city of Bologna which recalls the cell of a beehive.
The theme of this edition focuses on climate change and carbon neutrality. Along with 100 other cities, Bologna is selected to become a carbon neutral city by 2030.

My works were on the long list of 155 illustrators selected from 1186 artists.
WALL FLOWERS
This is one of my three entries to the contest.
Each flower - that has a classic wall silhouette on the top - grows inside Bologna 's ancient wall's shape. Their arcs also make us remember to Bologna's thousands of arcades. Spreading flowers symbolise that the city is clear, carbon neutral, full of fresh air and that the citizens want to live a better life, also they do everything for their green city. Colors - sunny yellow, rich red, vibrant orange and vegetative green - reflect the Mediterranean city's ancient tone and voice, and its own colors.

BOLOGNA'S FUTURE
This is the other one of my three entries to the contest.
The child represents Bologna's future generation, his arms hug Bologna's ancient wall. The city itself is symbolised by plants, flowers, birds, so the nature around us, that is in harmony with the people of Bologna. Everything is green, carbon neutral and ready for be(e)ing a perfect, livable place for the future generation too.
